We had been thinking about organizing something like this for quite a while, and this year we finally made it happen. With my birthday approaching and Debby’s shortly after, we decided to invite friends and family to the area near the mountain cabin.
We gave our guests two options: they could either join us in the morning for a light hike from the rifugio to the cabin, followed by a return to the rifugio for lunch, or they could skip the hike and simply meet us at the rifugio for lunch.
This setup made the experience accessible to everyone, not just the more adventurous ones who wanted to hike the mountain trails. The event turned out great—a beautiful day, stunning views, and delicious food.
Trail notes
We followed an easy trail, first descending to the cabin and then climbing back up to the rifugio. The path is accessible to everyone, with no technical difficulties and only a mild elevation change.
