Grignetta stands as one of the most beloved mountain peaks in the vicinity of Lake Como. While it is cherished by professional alpinists, it also offers trails suitable for intermediate hikers.
The Cecilia Trail, in particular, promises an adventurous experience, featuring sections equipped with chains that lead to the magnificent summit, crowned by a unique iron bivouac known as the “Ferrario Bivouac.” The vista from this point is truly magnificent, and the bivouac’s presence offers a delightful break upon summiting.
As for the descent along the Cermenati Ridge, it’s a gentler option. However, if you’re feeling physically and mentally up for more adventure, you can opt for the Sentiero delle Capre, a less serene but equally captivating alternative route.
About the trail
As previously mentioned, this mountain has a rich history as a training ground for professional alpinists. While there are accessible trails, having some prior experience is always advisable. This becomes especially crucial when facing snowy and icy conditions, as the level of difficulty can significantly escalate.
