I had recently hiked to this peak from two (#1, #2) different starting points. Since the trail is beautiful and the summit offers great satisfaction, despite being a relatively low and moderately accessible peak, I thought it would be a great hike to share with my partner.
We started from the parking area at Culmine San Pietro, near the restaurant where we enjoyed a nice breakfast before setting off.
The initial section of the trail is quite easy, essentially a dirt road that gently ascends. However, on this occasion, there was plenty of ice and snow, so we decided to put on our microspikes early on.
The final stretch is slightly more challenging, with a steeper incline, and once on the ridge, a bit of caution is required. That said, with microspikes, footing remained stable throughout.
Upon reaching the bivouac, the view was, as always, stunning. The Grigne massif and the Resegone were perfectly visible, and the 360° panorama was truly breathtaking. The descent was straightforward and not demanding. This time, we returned via the same path we had taken on the way up.
Trail notes
The trail is easy and suitable for all hikers with a minimum level of experience. However, in snowy and icy conditions, the right gear is essential: microspikes and appropriate clothing for the cold and wind exposure at the summit are strongly recommended.
