For this hike, we brought together two generations spanning a decade apart. The effects of this age difference became evident as we needed to bypass some of the more challenging sections for the “older” group.
Nevertheless, the trip was incredibly beautiful and enjoyable for everyone. Despite moving in two separate groups, moments of reunion and sharing were not lacking. Especially when we reached the summit of Mount Tremezzo, the sky was so clear that it mesmerized us all with a breathtaking view of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
About the trail
The trail is simple and suitable for all levels. In fact, it’s possible to follow the mixed paved and dirt military road almost all the way to the end of the entire route. Of course, it’s much more enjoyable to follow the trail that leads to the mountain peaks. In my case, I was content to accompany the “older group” to the “Cima della Duaria” and Mount Tremezzo, passing through the Venini Refuge.
