Valle dei Ratti is a valley located in the province of Sondrio, within the territories of the municipalities of Verceia and Novate Mezzola.
The trail we followed intersects or overlaps with other famous trails, such as the “Tracciolino” trail and the “55th Fratelli Rosselli Brigade Route,” which retraces the path of the partisans of the division of the same name during the winter of 1944.
The path takes you to the Frasnedo refuge, where you can unwind and savor some delectable food to rejuvenate your energy. I’ve stayed overnight there before; it was during one of the most demanding hikes of my life when I reached Pizzo Ligoncio.
About the trail
The trail is mostly straightforward, but some neglect and a few fallen leaves make some sections slightly more exposed. Therefore, it is not recommended to venture along this route unless you have a minimum level of experience and confidence.
